I’m boycotting Google. For the longest time, I was #2 in the search results if you type justin moore into the search box. I never could quite reach the top for some reason. A few weeks ago in an SEO effort, I decided to install an XML Sitemaps plugin for WordPress that makes my content more findable and easily indexed by the search engines. At the same time, I modified my robots.txt file to re-allow some previously blocked engines (Microsoft and Internet Archive). Fast-forward to this week, and I’m now number FIVE on Google when searching for my name. All this effort and I went DOWN? I surely must have the weights in the Sitemap plugin configured wrong or something.

So, for now, I’m using Yahoo! Search for all my searching needs, because if you go there and type justin moore, you’ll find the REAL me.
