So, it looks like I’ll be attending the Fall 2007 Church IT Roundtable in Kansas City. This is an unconference for church IT folks with a roundtable discusison format. I really waited til the last minute and had no intentions on going. However, I’ve been talking quite a bit lately with Jeffrey Thompson and Bryson Medlock and I’ve let them talk me into it.

I just booked a flight this morning and leave on Tuesday morning, October 2nd and come home next Friday, October 5th. The flight was surprisingly pretty cheap still but I was having some trouble with hotel accomodations.

I finally decided to hop on to and give it another whirl. The last I went to Louisville, I used Priceline to book my flight and it put me on a 6:00AM flight from an airport 2.5 hours away from home, so I’ve vowed to never use them again for air travel, but they just scored me an awesome deal on a room at the Radisson in Lenexa. Current going rate on the Radisson website for that room is $109 a night, and with Priceline’s “Name Your Own Price,” I got it for $50/night! Sweet!

I wish I’d known about this more than two days before it was going to happen. I probably could have cried enough and gotten WCA to send me – and maybe even paid the bill.

However, I really can’t link the site to anybody on the pastoral staff/board when the word “other” is spelt so atrociously wrong on the front page. lol.

[…] Church IT RoundTable IRC Chat A little over three months ago, Jeffrey Thompson announced on ITdiscuss that he had started an IRC channel on Freenode for the Church IT RoundTable folks. I had really just began getting involved and interested in the world of Church IT and since I was already a lurker in #wordpress, I thought I might as well hop in there and chat it up a bit with the guys. It didn’t take long for the “regulars” to form a unique friendship and within just a week or two, these guys had talked me into opening up my personal wallet and traveling to Kansas City for the Fall 2007 RoundTable.
