I normally don’t do memes, and I really have no reason to be doing this one. No one has actually tagged me, but I felt like participating anyway after seeing it come in on several of my feeds.

Four jobs that I’ve had

  • Newspaper Inserter
  • Inside Sales @ Sherwin-Williams
  • Internet Freelancer
  • I.T. Coordinator

Four movies I can watch over and over

  • Independence Day
  • The Matrix
  • Fight Club
  • Men in Black

Four places I have lived

  • Polk County, NC
  • Boiling Springs, NC
  • Shelby, NC
  • Brevard, NC

So I had to had Brevard there on the end to get four. I spent every summer there for about seven or eight years when I was a kid. Good times.

Four TV shows I like to watch

  • 24
  • Lost
  • Desperate Housewives
  • CSI: Any variety

I’d be embarassed to list all the shows that my Tivo records every week and how many of those I actually watch. Those would probably be the four I would miss the most though if my TV were to disappear.

Four foods that I like

  • Steak
  • Barbecue (Western NC style)
  • Pizza
  • Coffee

OK, so coffee isn’t technically a food, but I’d have a hard time making it more than a couple days without it.

Four websites I visit daily

Four things I want to do before I die

  • Become a dad
  • Design/build/payoff a house
  • Give something back to the OSS community
  • Attend church in the Golovinski region of Moscow, Russia

Four people I’m tagging

CNN.com – GOP sets up showdown over Alito
So the news broke yesterday that John Kerry is trying to rally his troops in the Democrat camp and call for a filibuster on the Alito vote. And to think, this man could have been our President. Scary.

A couple of weeks ago, Brandon mentioned that the F-22A Raptor was ready for combat and he reminded me of it this morning. Remember that I never tracked down a picture of it, I decided to go in search of one this morning and came up with
this result.

I didn’t get started on January 1st, but I am making a semi-formal New Year’s Resolution to have a healthier 2006. My primary task to help out with this is taking Java for a run around our neighborhood several times each week. In the past week, we’ve been out three times and each time gets easier for me. The loop from our house, out to the main road, back onto the other street the completes the circle and back to our house is just over a half-mile and so far, I come back each time realizing just how out of shape I am. But anyway, I’ll document my progress here as things go along. I have no doubt in my mind that we’ll be running multiple laps around the loop before much longer.

DailyTech has an article up today titledCDR Manufacturing Licenses to Change – Cheaper Discs For You and I.

Dozens of sources are reporting about the recent decision by Philips to cut CD-R royalties by almost half. Currently, $0.045 USD from every (sanctioned) CD-R manufactured is paid to research giant Royal Philips Electronics. Under a new licensing plan, media manufacturers will only pay $0.025 USD per disc. For the average 100 CD-R pack, that translates to a $2.00 USD savings.

This isn’t major news, but something you might not pickup elsewhere amongst other major headlines.

In other news, the RIAA has begun preparation for filing charges against Royal Philips Electronics for bringing music piracy paraphernalia to people who couldn’t previously afford it.

Guardian Unlimited is running a story titled Russia in grip of new cold war. We’re having a rather mild winter here in the southeastern United States, but the cold weather has definitely hit Russia hard.

Weather forecasters predict that tonight and tomorrow temperatures will plunge to as low as -37C, the coldest in the capital since 1979. Moscow’s record low is -42.1, set 66 years ago.

Apparently “global warming” picks and chooses where it effects…

I read these last week, but never got around to posting the link here. Everyone needs to drop what they are doing right this instant and go read the Chuck Norris Facts.

A few of my favorites:

  • The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain.
  • Chuck Norris is 1/8th Cherokee. This has nothing to do with ancestry, the man ate a f*****g Indian.
  • Chuck Norris can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.
  • Chuck Norris is not hung like a horse… horses are hung like Chuck Norris.

Some buffoon left a snarky comment yesterday regarding the orientation of the pictures in my latest galley. Well, I rotated said pictures to their correct orientation with a very simple little command.

syntax@neo:~/temp_toweb> jhead -autorot *.jpg

Let’s see your Windows box do that. :-p
