Well, I did it. I bought the Thinkpad. I even managed to mooch a “free” 2nd AC Adapter to help offset the cost of Shipping/Handling which I complained about to the sales rep. Anyhow, here’s the loot:

  • Processor: Intel Pentium M 725 1.6 GHz (Centrino Mobile Technology)
  • Graphics: ATI Mobility RADEON 7500 w/32MB dedicated Video RAM
  • Screen Size: 15″ TFT Active Matrix
  • Memory:768 MB DDR333 SDRAM (256 incl. + 512 free promotional)
  • Hard Drive: 40 GB 4200rpm
  • Integrated Features: CD RW/DVD ROM, 56 Kbps Fax/Modem, Stereo Speakers
  • Networking: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, Wireless LAN Antenna
  • Weight: 6.6 lbs. (Almost double my VAIO – sigh)
  • Included Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional

I’ll be adding SuSE 9.3 Professional as soon as it gets here – which is supposedly by 09/16/05. My calendar is marked!
