Last post ever – last night ever sleeping on Red Road. It’s been a good nine months, but the time has come to move on. Today, we closed on our house and now have a great place to call home.

I’m likely gonna be offline for a few days while I wait for Time Warner to get their slack selves in gear and get out and install my junk. I’ll be checking my primary email and the wantmoore -at- gmail.com address at least daily though.

Adios amigos!

Our appointment to close is now in less than an hour and I am excited. At the same time, I’m extremely nervous for some reason at the moment. Maybe nervous isn’t the right word, but rather apprehensive. This is a huge step for anyone and an even bigger step for Bonnie and myself. I know we’re both so excited to reach this point in our life and our relationship together.

I do want to take this brief moment and send out a HUGE and very sincere thank you to each person who has helped us over the past few weeks. I won’t name anyone in particular or list what each of you has done to help, but seriously – THANKS for everything. There’s no way we could’ve ever made it through this without everyone’s help and support.

I still have several Gmail invites to give away – more than 5 but less than 10. If anyone wants one, now’s the time to ask before I go and give them to the soldiers or troll them away on Gmail Swap. Just leave a comment asking for one with a good reason and make sure the email address is valid.

After all my rants about Internet Explorer lately, I go to the BellSouth website to transfer my home phone service over to the new address and here is what I’m welcomed with:

BellSouth Browser Error

That’s flippin’ ridiculous. Now I REALLY want to cancel my service with BellSouth and get VoIP from Time Warner.

I’ve been on the rampage lately combating comment spam on this blog and I know it’s only a matter of time before the other blogs I run (Bonnie’s and The Wedding) become suckered in as well. However, it appears that I have finally solved the problem on my site – at least for now. I know that no system is fool proof, and I apologize for the mild inconvenience of a wait that you will have if you’re a first time commenter on wantmoore.com. Have no fear, all legit comments will be approved!

On this same note, Brandon posted a new rant on his site over the weekend. This rant is about spam and how it is the scourge of the Internet. Go read it – it’s quite well written as are the articles over on GetOffTheComputer.com.

I’m just in from Charleston, but felt the need to go ahead and post this.

Kevin Francis has been on my frequent WP Blog reads each day and he has some good stuff over on his site. This post is yet another one of many I’ve seen lately regarding dropping IE and switching to Mozilla’s Firefox Internet Browser.

Now, it appears that I might be starting to “preach to the choir” so to speak here on wantmoore.com, because my web stats so far this month are showing a HUGE change in the percentage of IE/Mozilla users from past months. Ever since I moved to Mindstorm Hosting, I’ve been able to track this and many other trends rather closely and I’ve always seen IE losing a point here and there to other browsers, but this month is even more impressive.

And one other thing… who in the world is reading wantmoore.com from a Sun Solaris system?! These are the things I must know….

It’s too bad that when I need many vacation days, all I’m getting is a mini vacation. I’m heading down to Charleston this weekend with Bonnie, Matt L, Mandy and Buck. I think Mandy’s brother and a friend of his may be coming along as well. Bonnie and myself are actually leaving early tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon and driving down to Matt’s place in Greenville, NC and then the three of us are making the trek to C-town the next day.

I’m looking forward to this trip for a few reasons. One – to hang out with the crowd. I’ve known Bonnie’s friends for a while but we’ve never really spent a lot of time around them so I’m looking forward to getting to know them better. Reason number two is that I’ve never been to Charleston. My family has always been to Myrtle Beach instead, so I’m definitely excited about taking in the town. The third and final reason is the site-seeing. I’m looking forward to the road trip aspect in general which is good because I’ll be behind the wheel probably 20+ hours over the next few days, but more precisely there is all kinds of cool historical stuff in Charleston that I’m really excited to see, such as the USS Hunley and other military points of interest. I imagine that Matt and myself just might get caught up in some of these things, as well as general computer geek talk.
