Well, I’m almost moved into the new house. This is coming to you from my new, improved, fantastic, black & green office! Floor guys are here putting down the new carpet and linoleum in the living room/kitchen right now, I’ll explain more about that later. But I’m in and online!

Bonnie threw a Halloween party tonight for all the campus shop employees, and I think everyone had a blast. Most of the people left to early to enjoy the real fun that ensued at the end of ‘The Lion King.’ “Are you achin’ for some bacon?” Is it still funny the day after? Yeah I think so too…

Anywho, Matt T. cooked a huge feast, which was good because around 25 people showed up, way more than Bonnie was planning for I think. But it was a great turnout and I was glad to finally meet everyone I always hear about. The pumpkin carving turned out extremely well and you can see the jack-o-lanterns in the Campus Shop Halloween Party album. I apologize for the pics being such a mess and not titled, but it’s late and I’m heading to bed and I told most of you that the pics would be posted today. If anyone has a problem with me posting their picture, just comment and I’ll remove you, but hopefully that won’t be a problem. No lawsuits please 😉

Well ladies and gentlemen, I have some sad news to report…

At some point in the next 24-48 hours, I’ll be dismantling my computer and rest of my office stuff to move it to the new house. The sad part is, Time Warner can’t come to connect RoadRunner/DVR/Digital Cable until NEXT FRIDAY MORNING. So, I’ll be broadband-less for a week! Someome save me! I think I’ll manage, but remember that if you need to talk to me, email probably won’t be a very rapid method over the next week. My postings at GOTC will probably be rather light as well. So if you need anything at all, don’t hesitate to use the new layout and inclusion of the SMS button to text me on my cell phone.

In the meantime, I’ve put the Titans-Panthers game pics online. So you can go and enjoy those while I’m away from blogging….

I guess I should write a bit about the weekend and let all of you know how things are going with the house and move…

Weekend was crazy busy, but a lot of fun no less. Friday night was homecoming at my high school, but apparently I was one of about 5 people that I graduated with that knew about it; and two of those people were my closest comrades. But “c;est la vie” or so they say. Still hope to see some of you sometime in the near future. The football team stomped another school: 75-7 was the final I think. North Lincoln probably rode the bus back home standing up, bent over, and grabbing their ankles. Well that’s at least what the game looked like anyway 😉

Saturday morning Bonnie and I took a little ride with my dad to Wal-Mart and we found a garage sale along the way. I scored 2 old Alabama records. I don’t mean albums on CD or cassette either. The real deal. Got them both for 5 bucks so I was happy. I can’t remember now which two albums they are but one was released in ’83 and the other in ’87. What a steal they were. From there we went on to Asheville and then Brevard to see Bonnie’s family and her sister’s day care that is finally all finished.  The house looks fantastic Kel. Everyone has done a fantastic job cleaning the place up and making it very kid-friendly. If anyone in the Brevard area is looking for some place to send your younger child, write me and I’ll get you some more info.

Then there was Sunday… And I only have a few things to say to the twisted Helix: MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! How ’bout them Panthers??What an awesome game! I never thought I would get to see such an awesome display of talent from one of the few remaining undefeated teams in the NFL this season, but my Titans just absolutely opened up a can. Well, I can’t give Tennessee full credit since Carolina just completely forgot their can at home or something. (Just teasing man, it was a bizarre game and I do hate it turned out as badly as it did, but at least we still had fun.) I’ll try and throw the online album together as soon as I get a spare minute, but those are getting harder and harder to come by…

Because I’m almost out of time. Now less than two weeks to be completely out of here. I am happy to report though that as of tonight, the painting is 90% finished. Bonnie and me completed the last of the walls tonight so I only have some trim left to paint. We did move my living room already since that room is totally finished, and I’m hoping by this time tomorrow to have relocated my office furniture and most of my computer stuff. If Time Warner can get out there early Thursday or Friday morning, I’ll go ahead and set the appointment to have Road Runner connected this week. And I can’t wait for my digital cable!

Ahhh..must sleep…8:00 am comes mighty early sometimes.

Well Apple finally made it around to porting and releasing iTunes for Windows. For the lengthy review, keep your eyes checking over at www.getoffthecomputer.com but here’s my initial thoughts

IT SUCKS.

That’s about all there is to say. I’ve used iTunes before on a Mac, and I was impressed and so excited when I heard they were releasing a Windows version. But now I can say that they should have left it be. The sound quality of the box is absolutely pitiful. The EQ is turned on automatically but at flat settings. After some fuss, I’ve got decent sound, but nothing like from Windows Media Player, Winamp, or my latest friend, Foobar. Just pitiful…

Well you asked and you shall receive…

OK, so no one really asked for a new layout, but here it is anyway. I hope you like it, and if you do, I’d of course appreciate you using that newly found email button at the top of the column to the right and letting me know.

One other thing…

I’m working on tweaking a new design for the layout here. The general layout will be the same, but I’m reworking the entire right-hand side menu to be more informative and functional. I’ve been working on and off for a week or two getting my stuff together, and if I can take an hour amongst the craziness this week, I’ll try to finish it up and reveal it all to you.

The office is completely finished except for putting the doors back on their hinges. I want to share some pics but none of them turned out decent enough. Walls and trim both turned out extremely nice and I’m surprising myself more everyday about how good I’m getting at this painting business. I also finished the woodwork and doors in the living room/kitchen tonight with the help of my wonderful girlfriend and it too looks fantastic. The hallway is also painted now and after I rework the trim color I’ll finish it up.

Next thing on the paint list is my bedroom. I’m slightly ecstatic about the color that’s going in there; it’s by far my favorite out of our 1000+ color fan deck at work.  Even more exciting is the fact that I should be able to finish up my makeshift structured wiring situation tomorrow. The coax is all taken care of already, but I still have to crawl back under the house and add a few more strands of Cat5 and then splice the new phone lines together as well as terminate all the Ethernet jacks. As soon as I get my wiring all finished I’ll have to get in touch with Time Warner to have my RoadRunner and Digital Cable with the DVR connected. J Now that’s something to be happy about!
