With the new phone, comes added features and fun. With the extremely mobile camera, I’ll now be posting pictures from time to time, probably very frequently between now and Jan 1, 2004 since thats when my unlimited uploads/downloads ends. Where can you see these images you ask? wantmoore.textamerica.com is where!

With this addition to my site, there will also be some subtraction. The webcam hasn’t been updated in a few MONTHS and that’s somewhat embrassing. So, I’ll make the /webcam link at the top disappear and in its place will be something that says /mobile i think. If you have a better name (less than 10 or so characters) I’m open to suggestions. Leave it in the comments.

I’ve been rather busy lately shuffling all my different jobs and responsibilities. Work at S-W has been rather hectic and I’ve been appreciative that it’s only part-time. I don’t think I could handle 40 hours a week of this insanity. When not at the paint store lately, I’ve been contracted by Brandon to build the systems for ESI. Three computers in the past week! It’s been rather fun spec’ing the systems out and I’ll have two machines to assemble tonight with a 3rd on the way by the end of the week. This is what I want to be doing full time. If anyone knows any other businesses in the Cleveland County area, hook me up!

I’ve been tweaking on my CSS code a bit trying to get it to look right on all screen resolutions. See the post below for more details, I promise I’m working on it! Also wrote a lot in the past few weeks for GOTC.com, but thankfully Helix is back in town now and picking up some of his slack. 😉

The best news of late is my new cell phone. Picked it up from Verizon over the weekend and I have a new number as well. If you still have my old 828-429-xxxx cell number, you need to leave a comment so I can give you the new one. It’s local to Shelby now so that should make things much more convenient for me and everyone around here. The camera is a really cool feature addition from the past phones I’ve used, but I think voice dialing is my favorite. I’m in the process of writing a full out review for next Tuesday on GOTC.com so be sure and look for it next week. Initial rating though is 4.5 stars out of 5, and that’s only because I don’t think any product can be perfect.

Another recent aquisition is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 which is very cool. I’ve been experimenting with a variety of styles of planes and flight plans but my inital reaction of it is excellent as well.

I guess I have to go to work now. But I’ll try my best to update this blog more often. Not to sound like a whiner, but it would be more motivating if I knew you actually cared whether or not you had anythign new to read. Just click the ‘comments ?’ link ok?

I managed to screw up the CSS template for my blog while attempting to improve it and have been too lazy to fix it yet. The attempt was to improve the site’s look and layout for all of you still stuck at 800×600 resolution, which is quite a few by my statistics that I’ve been keeping. SO my apologies are out to you and I promise to fix it this week, maybe even tonight when I’m writing the next CSS article for GOTC. My goal is to have the menu on the right and the right margin of this column of text be free floating so that they will automatically resize and look marvelous on any screen/resolution. It looks really pretty right now at 1280×1024 🙂

If anyone has any expertise feel free to leave a comment or email me and help me out. The CSS template can be viewed here and the section for the menu is called ‘sidebar’ with the ‘body’ section being the main area of course.

Apache is at the vet’s office and I would guess by now he is definitely sleeping and maybe even under the knife already. I think I understand the feeling that parents get when they have to take their kid to their first day of school now. I was so sad when I hand to give him to the lady at Twin Lakes Animal Hospital. And it’s very lonely around here! I’ve got a ton of stuff to do as you can read from earlier today, but nto at all motivated to start any of it. Ahh….stop the insanity and give me my cat back!

I’m off work today, yet I’m up at 7:15 thanks to my cat. I have to get myself ready and take him to the vet by 8:30. But I can go back and pick him up sometime after lunch, only he will be minus his manhood if you know what I mean. I’ve got a fairly productive day planned though. Here’s my to-do list:

Eat breakfast
Drop Apache off at vet
Clean kitchen
Vacuum entire apartment
Scrub bathroom
Write article about CSS for our Tutorials Site
– Possibly rearrange my bedroom
– Begin assignment for Small Business Management (due Monday)
– Read a Chapter of my PHP book
– Wash my car (weather permitting)

That’s a lot of stuff, but it all needs to be done. So wish me luck and hopefully I’ll survive!

I’m up earlier than I needed to be this morning thanks to my wonderful and accurate biological clock (Note sarcasm)! It’s a good thing though I guess. Our DM is gonna be at the store today so I’ll be able to get myself all ready and still make it to work on time. I just WISH that I would get 5 minutes alone with this guy and get to fill him on about a few things going on. Ahhh….oh well. I’ll tough it out a little longer and make the best of it. Gotta go though, my pot of coffee downstairs is still half full and I’ve only got 30 minutes left to drink it all!

(NOTE: I’m gonna start making use of the ACRONYM tag. Anytime you see an acronym underlined like this hover your mouse cursor over the word and you’ll see what it stands for. Try it out with the DM above too!)

As previously noted, I’ve been setting a lot of goals for myself lately. The best of my recollection, this is what I have so far:

Short term (< 12 months) -Better grades at GWU (nothing less than B's) -Be more proficient at programming in PHP -Obtain my A+ certification -Begin work on MCSE and have at least one MCP -Better, more suited employment (see below) - >500 unique hits per week on this site and at GetOffTheComputer.com

Long term (12 – 24 months)
-Have new business started and making profit
-Design three or more websites for paying customers
– 1000+ Unique hits per week on this site and at GetOffTheComputer.com
-Mastery of PHP
-Obtain MCSE
-Finish B.S. degree in Business Administration/MIS at GWU
-Possibly obtain BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training)
-Purchase first house

Very long term ( > 24 months)
-Open computer repair shop or office space for “Syntax/Helix Studios”
-Learn another programming language (Perl?)
-Obtain CCNA
-Apply for job with CIA/FBI/NSA

Obviously most of these are career oriented. Also, most of them don’t require something from only me. Helix and I have big plans, and at the moment, I’m dreaming big as far as where this road is taking us. I think this is quite possibly the beginnings of something huge if we take our time and plan properly. It would be awesome to setup an amazing business and have it running itself within 2 years time. I’d love to work with an intelligence agency, either as field agent or even as a network technician inside Langlely or somewhere such as that. Heck, I’d even love to be a C.S.I. if I could get my stomach a little stronger.

Just my ramblings, ideas, wishlist. More for me than you, but at least you have an idea whats going on in my head lately. Now ya know why I’ve been slacking with posting?

At least I think it is. Everyone poke around the blog and make sure everything is working as it should. I’ve sucessfully upgraded all the blogs on my site to the latest revisions of the WordPress software. The new version isn’t quite to Beta yet, but it’s stable enough to use and functioning like b2 used to! Ah, this is marvelous, I can post through w.bloggar again and not have to use the web form. 🙂 I’m a happy webmaster tonight.
