Another good chunk of my day spent in front of my monitor coding PHP and HTML. At least its not wasted and meaningless. Not to me and not to my business partner. GetOffTheComputer.com is well on its way to being the best darn help site on the net.

It is finally here. Brandon and I went live tonight with GetofftheComputer.com and we’re totally psyched about it. Here is his take on the site:

“These documents are written for every computer user. Sometimes a tutorial will apply to someone who is just starting out, and other times, a tutorial will apply to the most advanced of computer users. It’s my hope that every week, something will apply to everyone. We want to have fun with this, and we have had fun with the first five tutorials that have gone up. We wanted to be informal, and we have been. These aren’t meant to be stuffy “white papers” on how to do things, but informal, informative, humorous writings from a bunch of computer geeks.”

So there you have it. Check it out, bookmark it, and most importantly, pass the link on to all your friends who have email or instant messaging. We need to touch everyone’s life with this site! It will only make your computing life easier. And be sure to email me, leave a comment here, or

Additionally, Helix went live with his own personal site simultaneously today. Click on over and watch his super-cool Flash intro at BrandonJaynes.com. His photography is excellent and the site itself is really very well done.send us a comment at the website.

Thanks so much everyone!

I’m reposting all the pics from before as well as a few others that were taken since the last upload. Reasoning: higher quality! Some of them would probably make decent wallapapers for you, so I uploaded them all at a higher resolution now that I’m back home and have the bandwidth to do so. Doing this on the dial-up from down at the beach would’ve been a nightmare. If there is a particular one that you really like and want the COMPLETELY FULL SIZE image (1600 x 1200 ~ 800Kb each) just email me with the link to the picture and I’ll email you back with the full size file.

Coming soon to a website near you….

Free tips, tricks, downloads, and other fun things: computer related of course. A friend of mine is reworking his website this summer and has the most excellent idea for including a tutorial section. He’s written some already and he has invited me to do the same. It’s highly likely as well that Your’s Truly will be writing a weekly section on some cool software toy that everyone should download. I’ll feature any kind of fun, useful, or just plain cool program. I may also include programs to DEFINITELY avoid. I’m open for ideas as is he. Let me know what you think and if it sounds like something you would be interested in reading. (Editor’s Note: Please people…I know from my site stats that you ARE reading. So please, when I so politely ask for some feedback, LEAVE SOME!)

Live again from Myrtle Beach. Today was really a lot of fun. Having Billy’s laptop here is proving to be excellent! I’m caught up on my email and most of my other daily reads, so it won’t take me very long at all to get myself back up to geek-speed once I return home. I’m also using the CompactFlash card reader that’s built in to archive all my pics from the digital camera so that I can upload them for your convenience. It has definitely been a pain to connect via dialup, but better than nothing. I’d love for Ocean Lakes to install a FREE WiFi network by the time I come back next year. Heck, I’d even be willing to shell out a few bucks per day for it. I’ve missed my MP3 collection tremendously since I left. I’ll have myself a SecureDigital memory card before my next road trip and will bring along a good chunk of it for playback on the Z.

Bonnie and I went to up towards North Myrtle today and spent a few hours at Barefoot Landing. The larger part of that time was spent going through Alligator Adventure. TONS of alligators, crocodiles, frogs, lizards, snakes, ducks, fish and many many other critters. It was excellent! I’m uploading some of the pics to the Myrtle Beach 2003 Gallery as we “speak.” Pay close attention to Bob, the tail-less gator as well as the ducks with Tarheel Blue bills, very cool!

After we got back, 20-25 of us went out to eat at the Texas Roadhouse. Took forever to be seated and the waiter was horrible, but the food was still fantastic once we got it. After our meal we did a little shopping and then came back here for a little golf cart cruising. There’s a really funny pic of my sister and “the girls” on their cart. Look for it when you’re browsing through the pics. The look on Tiffany’s face (girl in the middle) is priceless! To top the night off, we had about 15-20 people over here in our little house and played Family Feud the board game. My team won 3 out of 4 games, but couldn’t ever manage to win the “big money” in the end.

Well, I think that’s enough. I need to finish these pictures so I can get some rest. I’ll be home soon!

Well, we made it to the beach. I’m internet-less at the current moment, but I’m writing this on my new Zaurus while I’m watching TV. I’m counting on uploading a few pics and post this entry from Wild Man Bill’s laptop over at the Holiday Inn where he and Matt are staying. So we’ll see if that happens or not.

The trip down took a little longer than I had planned but still wasn’t bad. Traffic was only a brief issue on 77 between Charlotte and Rock Hill. I only stopped once. Food, gas, and bathroom all at once.

OK…just about bedtime…

Well, all my preparations are almost complete. So far this morning I’ve managed to: get packed, empty all my trash, put EVERYTHING away that was out of place, organize my office a little better, clean bedroom, vacuum all carpet in apartment and clean the bathroom. All I have left to do is:
1) Wash kitchen counters
2) Sweep/Mop kitchen
3) Empty litter box and refill it
4) Change Dazzle’s water (my betta)
5) Shower
6) Pack bathroom items

I’d like to vacuum and wash the car too before we leave, but with this list I may not have the time. The Zaurus, from here on out referred to as “The Z” is in transit to Sherwin-Williams. I’ll run and pick it up as soon as the UPS driver comes and drops it off. I hope they rememeber to call me!

I plan on writing some while I’m down there. If I get the chance, I wanna post some pictures while I’m there. A friend of mine who is already there took his new laptop so I’ll take my camera’s cable and see what I can do. Here’s the link for the Myrtle Beach 2003 pictures. The gallery is empty now, but as I upload you can see them!

I gotta get going, running behind now….
